Pediatric Dental Care
Great dental hygiene and habits begin in early childhood. To get our youngest patients excited about their dental health, we provide the gentlest comprehensive care in a colorful and fun environment. We emphasize education to establish good habits that will last a lifetime.
Your child’s dental care should begin with their very first tooth and continue all throughout their childhood and beyond. Our pediatric care plans include:
- Fluoride treatments. Fluoride is a mineral that can strengthen tooth enamel. These treatments help to prevent or slow down tooth decay in young teeth, in conjunction with regular brushing and flossing. Fluoride treatments are safe and painless, and they only take a few minutes. We may recommend treating your child 2-4 times per year, depending on how susceptible they are to cavities.
- Dental sealants. Dental sealants are a plastic material placed on the biting and chewing surfaces of a child’s teeth, especially on the hard-to-reach back molars. They work by smoothing out the grooves in teeth that tend to attract food matter and bacteria, and have been shown to greatly reduce the risk of cavities in teeth that are covered.
